Local police commissioners how will you decide?

How many people in the electorate know what is required in a local commissioner? how is one to decide which candidate is best qualified be can't go charging around to their place of work and see how well or not they are doing we'll be asked to vote for a candidate about whom we'll know nothing to do a job about which other than the very very basics we know nothing yet more PR PUFF with no certainty about improvement as a result changes for changes sake so when the wheels fall off the government can abdicate responsibility to those who voted for them or not as the case maybe more ill thought out claptrap based on the idea americans vote for their local sherrif last time i looked their gun and organised crime record was certainly no better than ours even though ours could be better!
